After a couple of teething problems in the first week, Blush is again running like a well oiled machine. A special thank you to the great team of dedicated tradies and and not to forget our special staff that all chipped in and pulled together to help achieve our goal to open on April 12th 2010.

The Old Rose Hotel has had it’s challenges, but nothing we couldn’t handle…

I can remember signing the 10 year lease on an old broken down truck at the rear of the 253, next door to the brothel! Michael thought I was mad, he dragged me down to Cafe Villa for a coffee and said “Are you sure you know what you are doin?”

I had $10,000 saved and a big dream…

We signed up and moved in and opened Blush for business on the 16th October 2000…All we had was a nail desk and a box of products. Twelve hour days and lot of blood sweat and tears, allowed us to buy a reception desk and a cash register. Over the next couple of years we added a beauty & tanning room and a hair section and expanded the nail section to 3 full time tech’s.

In January 2004, we extended into 255 and opened the Day Spa!

This was a pivital time in the success of Blush as we decided to stop doing nails…it just doesn’t fit with a day spa. With over 450 regular nail clients then, we still have many as regulars today.

We’ve had many different reactions from our much treasured clients, however almost all Blush clients are genuinely excited and understand we had no choice but to make the big move to North Fremantle to protect the future of our small family business.

To all our wonderful Blush clients that have always supported the local business for all their pampering, hair and beauty needs, we couldn’t have done it without you.

Blush will be relocating to the stunning refurbished Rose Hotel in North Fremantle, and opening on the 12th April 2010. 

The historic building is located at 76 Stirling Highway, North Fremantle, and although it’s not as central as Leederville (only 20 minutes away), it’s very convenient and easy to get to. With 25 customer car parks and right opposite the North Fremantle train station and bus stop at the front door. You’ll be able to get in and out with minimal fuss.

Although it’s sad to be leaving the fabulous location in Oxford Street, the new location of 855m2 gives us the chance to create a whole new Blush experience, and offer an even better service, particularly cutting down wait lists for premium times such as weekend bookings.

After almost 10 years in Leederville , Blush Day Spa will be relocating to the stunning refurbished Rose Hotel in North Fremantle, as early as April 2010.

Due to not being able to secure a long term deal with our current lease, we had to act quickly to snap up this charming new site for the next 20 years. However, in reality this is not possible. We all know that word of mouth is the cheapest and most effective way of getting new clients, but even for an established business, it would be suicide to rely totally on just one form of advertising.

Below is an advert we are using in the U (The West Australian News) section, this week on Wednesday 2nd September 2009 and also in the 2010 Yellow Pages under Day Spas. If I told you the price you’ probably wouldn’t believe me, so I won’t tell you. But like all businesses, large or small, if we’re not getting new clients in the door our business is going backwards.

Now, I’m sure you’ll agree…

Client’s stop coming for a myriad of reasons, of which, most of the time, has nothing to do with the business itself. And, that’s why at Blush we do our upmost to stay in touch with our clients, with a Monthly Newsletter, Blog, Emails, Facebook, so you always know what’s going on.

That’s why I need your expert advice…

From your perspective, as a client, I’m not sure you even know why you stop using a particular business or services. Was, it the cost ? Perhaps poor service, etc. etc. However, I’m sure if you sat back and thought about it, it’s probably a combination of many reasons, but the main one’s would be you didn’t feel appreciated or didn’t feel as though you had an experience. I doubt whether it was the actual product or service.

Which leads me to why I need your opinion on the advert below. I know the text is a little hazy but you can see a clearer picture on the Blush Facebook  Page – wall photos.
