At Blush we’ve always had a lot of questions from clients as to why we have Steam Units in all our spa rooms, and how come we don’t have spa’s? Well there’s so many reasons.
Let me explain just a few…
Firstly, what is a steam unit,? Well often referred to a Swiss Shower or Turkish Steam Shower, it’s like a normal shower unit, with a lots of bells and whistles. It has jets like a spa and heat like a sauna. Only the steam is wet heat as compared to a sauna which is dry heat.
Just the sheer convenience of having a private steam unit makes the treatment room so much more multi functional. The steam units are compact yet spacious and allow all body spa packages to be performed in the same room. There’s none of this getting up and trudging off to another spa suite or communal steam room YUK!!.
The units are safe and simple to use and yes the client can control the steam and showering functions themselves.Which again is a huge advantage for client satisfaction and safety.
They’re very hygienic and environmentally friendly…
The Units are very hygienic, easy to clean and maintain and with so many water restrictions these days they waste very little water while steaming , apart from when the client is showering. Steam and water are the ideal combination for relaxing and reviving the body and mind. People have appreciated the therapeutic powers of steam since the dawn of time. No wonder then that the culture of steam showering has been popular in many different parts of the world and still an integral part of people’s everyday lives. Just take a deep breath, sit back in the comfortable seat, relax and enjoy.
The steam feels like balsam on the body and soul…
The steam treatments are absolutely divine after a full body scrub, mud
wrap or even a massage. It cleanses, stimulates circulation, detoxifies the
body, frees the respiratory passages, fights bacteria, reduces stress/tension
and fights disease – especially during the wet and colder seasons.
A temperature of 45-50 degrees Celsius with an air humidity of 100% is sufficient to relax the skin, making it wonderfully soft and glowing. The steam clouds embrace you completely, giving you a sense of relaxation and security.
Finish your steam treatment with your selection of tropical rain, cascade
waterfall and body jets, then finally a cold shower. You will leave the treatment room a new person. Eucalyptus essential oil is always added to your steam unit, the benefits are; Head clearing, refreshing, stimulating, uplifting, invigorating, respiratory, decongestive, antiseptic, cooling, cleansing, antiinflammatory, anti-spasmodic a & analgesic.

The pamper pack I had on the weekend was great….. I loved the steam room thing…. You could just feel the dirt coming out of your pores.
Don’t under estimate the power of 38 – 40 degree water swirling around you though…… I was getting a cold on Tuesday… I had the achy back… snog nose, head ache… the works…… Jumped in the spa for twenty minutes at 40 Degrees, took two Panadol, had a shower after the spa, went to bed and woke up a little worse for wear…. jumped back in the spa for another twenty minutes… put on a jumper… done…. cold onslaught gone…. that had to be the power of the 40 degree water swirling around and encasing my body… heating the body up past the comfortable 36.5 degrees that the common cold lurgies thrive on….
Anyway… I wanted to remind you… We have spas should you want one… or your clients. They are truly portable… to give you an idea… you know that waiting room you go to when you finish off the pampering… near where the locker rooms are… I didn’t measure up…. but I am sure we could roll a spa into that area without too much trouble (Remember they only weight 45 Kilo). If all your doors are of the standard height I could roll our type of spa right on in. It seems you are great at getting your clients in to relax mate… it’s about time you had some down time to mate… I asked you in the limo when was the last time you had one of these pamper pack things… “Too long ago” was your answer… mate…. if you dont look after yourself… who will… you dont have an excuse….
